MY Story

Welcome to Sports Done Wright. My name is Hunter Wright, the founder, podcast host, head writer…pretty much I do everything here. I have always been an avid sports fan, playing a variety of sports growing up, and watching as many games as I could. It became clear to me that I wanted to pursue a career in covering sports. I started off writing for my school paper at FSCJ, then getting a job writing for Sportskeeda. While both experiences were enjoyable, I grew tired of having my hands tied creatively. So I started my own podcast and established this website where I can cover any topic I want. All I needed was a name for the brand…I didn’t have to think very hard.

Obviously the name Sports Done Wright is a play on words. Our brand colors are blue and gold, based of of my high school colors at Paxon School for Advanced Studies (Jacksonville, Fl). The bridge in the logo represents the various bridges in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Somewhat hidden within the microphone is an eagle, the mascot of my high school. Everything holds purpose. I graduated from Paxon in 2016, and now reside in Fleming Island, Fl.

I did graduate near the bottom of my class, something to do with reading The Last Headbangers by Kevin Cook and The Games That Changed the Game by Ron Jaworski instead of Shakespeare or…I don’t know…cracking open any of my textbooks. While neglecting AP Lit, AP Stat, as well as any and all science classes in favor of a deep dive into sports history is not something I’d recommend, it has made me uniquely qualified for this career choice.

While we work to establish this brand the majority of content will be football related. All other content such as basketball, boxing, etc., will be made available for those who sign up for free for our newsletter. We do top 10 lists, biopics, and other original articles and videos.
